ABOUT IVET

I started my photography journey as a black & white film photographer. I spent endless hours in the darkroom processing and printing. Simple curiosity developed into a passion of mine as I embraced the artsy life of Charleston, the place where I used to live at that time. That led me to meet many amazing people that helped me to embrace my journey. I displayed my art across Charleston, taking part in solo and group exhibitions.
A few years later, my husband and I made a journey across America and settled in Arizona. I continued to take pictures but my desire for printing was slowing down. I took a step back from photography as I was connecting with other parts of my life in the desert. Our recent move to the coast of Mississippi, Pascagoula, awakened my desire for photography again. Spending lots of time in nature and meeting all the magnificent birds inspired me to pick up my camera again,
My main focus are shorebirds and seabirds as well as other natural elements. As we all belong to nature, we are all looking for a connection with nature, as it is one of the most significant sources of energy and inspiration. And not only that, I am a strong believer that nature can heal one’s soul. Photographing birds is a mediative process for me. At the moment when we meet and I watch a bird through my lens for long minutes, sometimes hours, I feel like we are energetically connected. At that time, I’m the most present.

My work incorporates a female element as well and through my photographs, I tell their stories. The stories of birds and women. The wildness and passion of their characters create light & shadows - it’s like black & white photography. Energetic, magnetic, mystical - that’s what they are, that’s who they are. We keep growing together.
